While she is no John Le Carré, the plot and characters kept my attention, which is remarkable since I rarely read fiction. What an unbelievable book, I’m absolutely flabbergasted by the ending… it’s a cliffhanger, so I hope Philby is already working on a sequel because I NEED to know what happens next.

I want to laud this book for its treatment of a very serious taboo and societal problem, especially as it may affect persons of color. But Claire is determined to find her father and then discover the truth about what really happened that night. It really is a sensational story packed full of twists and written in such a masterful way that Philby deserves a round of applause for it.No he abandonado el libro por lo que malo no es y tengo que reconocer que está escrito y narrado muy bien lo que hace que me haya sido un poco más fácil su lectura.

It follows Artie, a young rehearsal pianist, Joe, a visionary director, and Carrie, his crackerjack Girl Friday, as they shepherd a production of a musical version of A Midsummer Night's Dream towards opening night. When the police report to her they may have a sighting of her father, she sets out on a mission to locate him first.

Like a fierce mother, Heylin is the only person allowed to criticise Dylan – and when he does, he really puts the boot in – but no one else can say a bad word. In addition to all of this, we are asked to consider class, privilege and the concept of a double life. Now Claire is a successful doctor in London, but each possible sighting of her father sends her into such a state of anxiety she finally decides to seek answers for herself. When the police tell Claire they've found him, her carefully calibrated existence begins to fracture. Although Claire is relatively successful as a physician, her younger brother has significant addiction problems.
