Description

The active substance in Cystopurin is potassium citrate. Potassium citrate helps to relieve the symptoms of cystitis by making your urine less acidic, reducing the discomfort caused by acidic urine.

Women may get cystitis more often than men because their bottom (anus) is closer to their urethra and their urethra is much shorter, which means bacteria may be able to get into the bladder more easily. What can help with Cystitis? You might find it helpful to ask your pharmacist to recommend a suitable painkiller. Paracetamol or ibuprofen can also help to ease the pain and discomfort of cystitis. It is also recommended to drink water throughout the day, as this will help bacteria exit the bladder. Avoid soda, caffeine, and alcohol to increase Cystopurin’s success. Take the contents of one sachet dissolved in a small glass of cold water (200ml), three times daily for two days. At the time of writing there is limited published information regarding the use of potassium citrate in pregnancy but it has been in use for many years without apparent ill consequence.
