The village has heard of this pestilence – all sorts of stories and some that are most likely untrue. But seeing her here, back with Charlie and the team who support her, did feel like dropping in on old friends.Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Anyway even though I liked the relationships here, it wasn’t perfect because it wasn’t developed enough. There are characters in the ‘ All Fall Down’ which relate to an earlier case of Helen’s, so readers more familiar than I am might recognise names from other books, but it does not detract in any way from this story.

The story unfolds through multiple perspectives and builds to a high octane climax, showdown and satisfying conclusion. It is a book that keeps the chills coming, the pages turning and the attention focused on just what will happen next and how far the characters will go to get what they want. I loved apocalypse novels when I was a teenager, so the Black Death interested me, because it was a real apocalypse.

This is a serial killer thriller of the finest quality and has everything a crime connoisseur could ever want in a read - an utterly captivating plot woven to perfection; searing intensity; dangerous exploits; a brutal killer; an engaging, flawed and likeable protagonist; and a palpable sense of tension from the very beginning until the closing line. She has faced danger many times before, survived and is prepared to put her own body and her own well-being on the line to solve the case and catch the killer. He introduces himself as Noah Estaban, a half Israeli and half Brazilian boy residing between the embassies of his two countries. Written in short, quick to read chapters, that mean you are constantly thinking just one more chapter.

The adults in this book did not believe Grace when she went to them for help, leaving her feeling useless and helpless, something many teens feel like a lot of the time. Common Sense Media in reviewing All Fall Down wrote "This may not be high literature, but tweens and teens may get hooked on the series.J Arlidge and tagged crime series, Crime Thriller, Must Reads 2020, Police Procedures on June 11, 2020 by Thebookreviewcafe. Despite protests from her friends, later that night Grace breaks into the abandoned Iranian embassy to retrieve the scarf but overhears two men meeting in secret. What segregates me from YA protagonists, and often becomes a barrier for empathy, is the fact that many of our protagonists are rather submissive.

While I can foresee one appearing in the future instalments, this book was purely character and plot driven.

The novel's title is meant to draw attention to the effect of the self-motivated, destructive passions unleashed within the family home in the course of its story.
