The Best of Love is the first compilation album by American singer Luther Vandross, released on October 4, 1989. However, Luther and Mariah were up to the task, scoring a massive international hit from his Songs covers album in 1994.

Recorded two years before his death, Luther emotionally sings about his memories of his late father, and it's become a heartbreaking classic for many people ever since.

Content you previously purchased on Oxford Biblical Studies Online or Oxford Islamic Studies Online has now moved to Oxford Reference, Oxford Handbooks Online, Oxford Scholarship Online, or What Everyone Needs to Know®. However, Best Of does cover Vandross' prime period better, and since Greatest Hits covers much of that same territory while missing several big-'90s hits, it isn't quite all it could be. Luther Vandross produced Dionne Warwick's album of the same name in 1983, and teamed up with her for a duet on the title track.

The album will also feature a bonus, previously unreleased track from the archives, ‘Love It, Love It’, which brings back the upbeat and soulful sounds of the much loved multi-platinum-selling artist. Essentially, it's for casual fans who want all the big hits on one disc -- serious listeners will want to stick with Best Of. It's always shocking to hear that this song came out as late as 2003, as it sounds so timeless that you expected it to have been around forever. There is a lot of overlap with Best Of -- it shares no less than nine tracks with that collection -- but it also has such-'90s hits as "Don't Want to Be a Fool" and "Power of Love / Love Power.

Luther Vandross' 1999 Greatest Hits may not be as generous as 1989's The Best of Luther Vandross, which contained 20 tracks on two discs, but it's a good, concise, 14-track collection that includes many of his very best songs. Luther's first ever solo single is also one of his best, and is still a truly fantastic disco pop song. The original recording of the track was from 1994, around the time of the album release ‘Never Let Me Go’. Luther Vandross had one of the all-time greatest singing voices, from his time as an in-demand backing singer to going solo in the '80s. The song was later remixed by David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, and CJ Mackintosh, and it became an international hit.

Luther Vandross ‘The Greatest Hits’ includes 16 tracks spanning Luther’s three decade career including hits ‘Never Too Much’ and ‘Dance With My Father’, as well as his famous collaborations with Beyoncé on ‘The Closer I Get To You’ and Mariah Carey on ‘Endless Love’. This track was a Grammy-nominated duet between Luther and Janet Jackson, recorded for the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-produced soundtrack to the 1992 film, Mo' Money. The lead single from his Give Me the Reason album, Luther reached the top 30 in the UK with this upbeat favourite. years after his death at the age of 54, he's still celebrated as one of the most talented performers of his generation.
